Cookie Policy

Last updated: January 01, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Passports API (“Passports API,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar browser technologies on passport-api.com. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies and browser storage are

Cookies are small text files a website places on your device. Session cookies normally disappear when you close your browser, while persistent cookies remain for a defined period. Websites can also use similar technologies, including local browser storage, to remember information on a device.

2. What we use

We currently use only storage that is strictly necessary to secure website functions and remember your privacy choice. We do not currently set analytics, advertising, or cross-site tracking cookies.

Name Technology Purpose Duration
passports_api_session First-party session cookie Protects the contact form, maintains its security token, and helps prevent repeated submissions. Until you close your browser
passports_api_cookie_consent First-party local storage Records whether you accepted or rejected optional cookies, the policy version, and the choice date so we do not ask on every page. Up to 180 days

The session cookie is created only when you visit or submit the contact page. It is marked HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax, and it is marked Secure when sent over HTTPS.

3. Optional cookies

No optional analytics or advertising technology is active on this website at the date shown above. Choosing “Accept optional cookies” records your preference but does not currently activate any additional tracking. If we introduce an optional purpose later, we will update this Policy and ask for a new choice before that technology is used where consent is required.

4. Your choices

You can accept or reject optional cookies from the banner with the same number of steps. You can also select Cookie settings in the footer at any time to review or change your choice. A new selection replaces the previous one.

You can delete cookies and local storage through your browser settings. If you delete the consent preference, the banner will appear again. Blocking the strictly necessary session cookie may prevent the contact form from working correctly.

5. External resources

This website loads typefaces from Google Fonts. When your browser requests those resources, the provider may receive technical request data such as your IP address, browser information, and the page requesting the file. Our cookie choice does not control this external page resource, and Google’s handling of that data is governed by its own terms and privacy information.

6. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy when our website technologies or legal obligations change. We will publish the revised version here and update the date above. If a change affects an existing consent choice, we will ask you to choose again.
